The grand finale of the Pride Festival lands in the capital once again in 2011 in the form of the Gay Pride Parade. London welcomes gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender revellers, plus partygoers of all sexualities and walks of life in a mass demonstration of pride and positivity.

Show your pride
Owing its origins to the original Gay Pride rallies and marches through the streets of London in the 1970s, the modern Gay Pride Parade London event has evolved into a cross between a massive street party and colourful carnival. Show your support for LGBT issues and the right of everyone to feel proud of their sexual identity at a colourful event packed full of outlandish costumes, extravagantly decorated floats and an all round party atmosphere.

Parade route
The route for the 2011 Gay Pride Parade London event begins at Broadcasting House by Portland Place. The carnival then winds its way along Regent Street and past Piccadilly Circus before crossing The Strand and ending by Trafalgar Square.

Party stages
At the end of the Gay Pride Parade, London revellers can look forward to hours more fun as the main Pride stage at Trafalgar Square hosts an afternoon of live music, comedy, DJ sets and dance acts. Clubbers can also throw some shapes at the nearby dance stage, while Soho will be closed to traffic so that the Pride street party can come into its own.

The Gay Pride Parade London route starts from Broadcasting House and travels along Regent Street and Piccadilly before ending at Trafalgar Square. The parade starts at 1pm, Saturday 2nd July 2011.
