A stunning Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition is open until September 2010 at Victoria and Albert Museum, highlighting the beautiful clothes and effortless elegance of one of the most popular actresses of the 1950s.

Grace Kelly Style Icon
Showcasing a spectacular selection of clothes from the star's wardrobe, this fashion exhibition is certain to be the highlight of the year for many fashionistas in London. Presenting over 50 of Grace Kelly's outfits, along with some of her accessories, visitors to the Victoria and Albert Museum are able to revel in the style and glamour of an era gone by, represented by one of the most fashionable icons of her time.

High Society
Famed for her roles in light hearted films form the fifties, one of the most famous characters she played was alongside Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong in High Society. Fans of the musical will be delighted to see some of the dresses worn by Grace Kelly in the Style Icon exhibition. Also featured in the show is the gown she wore to collect her Oscar in 1955, along with many other outfits from her films.

Film history
For film as well as fashion fans, the Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition has a selection of film clips, posters and photographs on show at the V&A, plus her winning Oscar statuette. Grace Kelly won the Oscar in 1954 for the film Country Girl in which she also starred alongside Bing Crosby.

Princess Grace of Monaco
The most famous role that Grace Kelly played was of course that of Princess to the reigning Prince of Monaco, Rainier. They were married in 1956 and the lace wedding gown that she wore in the civil ceremony will certainly be one of the most viewed exhibits on show at the Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition.

Designer icon
Along with hats, jewellery and the original Hermes bag that was the epitomy of style and elegance in the fifties, much imitated by other actresses and fashion lovers, the Grace Kelly Style Icon show features 35 haute couture gowns ranging from the 60s and the 70s. Many of these were designed by Grace Kelly's favourite designers, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Givenchy and Yves St Laurent.

The Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition at Victoria and Albert Museum takes place from 10am - 5.45pm, Saturday 17th April - Sunday 26th September 2010.
