Head to the 2011 graffiti festival London event for live art and music at a buzzing hip hop street party, hosted by aerosol artists' studio End of the Line.
Meeting of Styles
With spontaneous street art demonstrations from over 50 aerosol artists, the graffiti festival London event is bound to appeal to culture vultures who prefer their art to be fast and furious. Returning to London after its successful event last year, the Meeting of Styles festival takes place at The Studios in Islington for 2011.
International talent
Artists taking part in MOS 2011 will be exhibiting a wide range of graffiti styles from across Europe and the UK. As street art can often be a secretive and clandestine affair, the festival gives you a rare chance to see spraycan artists at work.
Music
Alongside the 50 or so artists taking part in the graffiti and street art festival, you can also enjoy a line up that showcases the best of the underground music scene courtesy of the DJs and MCs performing throughout the day. From hip hop to dub and funk, you can look forward to a sizzling soundtrack to the block party style festival.
Street art form
While high profile street artists such as Banksy might have reached the lofty heights of Bonham's and Sotheby's, as a whole the graffiti movement still retains much of its gritty, authentic street credentials. From anti establishment political sentiments to irreverent wit and pop culture parodies, there's bound to be a wide range of styles to be seen at the Meeting of Styles festival.
Highlight events
For many, the highlight of the Meeting of Styles graffiti festival London event will be the chance to see the live painting show in the festival's pop up gallery space. There's also an art raffle, competitions, a cinema space, licensed bars, a barbecue and an after party set in a custom painted warehouse space.
The Meeting of Styles graffiti festival London event runs from 12pm - 12am, Saturday 8th October 2011. The festival takes place at The Studios in Islington, and is free to attend.
