Graphic Art Fair at Somerset House

A graphic art fair at Somerset House this spring gives you the chance to browse and buy from some of the best contemporary graphic artists around. Graphic art, illustration and design work will all be on show, making this the ideal art fair for fans of the genre and budding artists themselves.

2011 graphic art fair
Somerset House plays host to the Pick Me Up art fair in 2011 as a veritable plethora of exciting graphic artists bring their wares to the grand venue to show and sell. Coupled with some excellent arty events, the contemporary graphic art fair is set to be one of the highlights of the season.

Art and design collectives
Setting up shop throughout the graphic art fair at Somerset House are several art and design collectives who will be selling a whole selection of specially commissioned work. Prints, t shirts, drawings and fanzines are all on sale fromthe likes of Concrete Hermit and Nobrow, so there is plenty of cool graphic art for all tastes.

Open studio
Another artist in residence throughout Pick Me Up is Anthony Burrill who is renowned for his work designs. Inviting people into his pop up studio for the duration of the graphic art fair at Somerset House, Anthony will be showing visitors exactly how he goes about his work, as well as inviting members of the public for daily art making sessions that will all be collated into a zine at the end of the fair.

Pick Me Up Exhibition
A highlight of the Pick Me Up at Somerset House is certain to be the Pick Me Up exhibition which includes several different graphic artists and their work. Some of the very best up and coming international designers and illustrators are taking part, and they have all been commissioned by Somerset House to produce a limited edition print specially for the fair. These exclusive works are all on sale throughout the graphic art fair at Somerset House, meaning you could go home with future classic.

Pick Me Up events
New to the fair for 2011 are the Heavy Pencil evenings where the best illustrators in town will get creative before your eyes as their work is projected onto the wall. Live music will accompany the artists as they work, with both sessions kicking off from 6pm on Thursday 17th and 24th March 2011. There is also a one day conference on the future of illustration on Tuesday 22nd March from 11am.

Pick Me Up, the graphic art fair at Somerset House takes place from 10am - 7pm, Thursday 17th March - Sunday 27th March 2011. Tickets are £7.00 for adults, and £5.00 for students, OAPs and children. Under 12s are free.
