Great Spitalfields Pancake Race

Join in all the fun at the Great Spitalfields Pancake Race, as the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane once again hosts the irreverent Shrove Tuesday tradition.

Get ready, set...
Work up an appetite for Pancake Day by assembling a team of four and joining in with the Great Spitalfields Pancake Race along Dray walk at the Old Truman Brewery. The charity sprint is hosted by the Alternative Arts organisation and will be raising funds for the London Air Ambulance, so you can take part safe in the knowledge that the money you raise in sponsorship will go towards a good cause.

Fancy dress
Expect to see plenty of eccentrically dressed folk at the Great Spitalfields Pancake Race, with many of the racers competing in fancy dress. Although the race organisers will provide the pancakes, you'll need to remember to bring your own frying pan to take part in the event.

Frying pan prize
To take part in the relay race, all you need to do is register your team of four and then take part in the heats along Dray Walk, flipping your pancake in its frying pan as you run along. The winners of the Great Spitalfields Pancake Race will be given an engraved frying pan, and the winners of the best dressed team category will also receive a prize.
