Celebrating St Patricks Day in spectacular style, the green London Eye is lighting up the London skyline in a tribute to the Emerald Isle.

Emerald green
2011 marks the second time the London Eye has turned a gorgeous shade of emerald green to celebrate St Patricks Day. Along with various other iconic landmarks, London is included in the worldwide celebrations thanks in part to the green London Eye acting as a beacon for all things Irish across the capital.

St Patricks Day celebrations
While the iconic observation wheel is a perennial favourite with Londoners and tourists alike, even more visitors are bound to be drawn to the green London Eye during the green light display. With the wheel lit up in the quintessential Irish colour for St Patricks Day, you might be inspired to splash out on tickets yourself or enjoy the unusual light display from the ground for free.
