The Greenwich and Docklands Festival presents a free programme of outdoor performances and exciting street entertainment in one of London’s most spectacular open air theatre events. Returning for the 15th year in 2011, the festival includes live performances from a line up of international acts, live in East London.

Spectacular street entertainment
Greenwich and Docklands will be bursting with activity during the festival, which takes place over nine days from late June. A stunning range of vibrant, colourful performances will be staged throughout the event, including large scale spectacles, free outdoors dance events, theatrical fireworks, pyrotechnics shows and numerous circus and dance theatre shows.

International art
Performance artists and theatre companies from all over Europe will be taking part in the festival, showcasing an eclectic and unique range of live performances. This year, the festival is welcoming a herd of life sized crimson giraffes, complete with a ringmaster and accompanying opera diva, who will move through Woolwich's local parks and open spaces. The 2011 festival also marks the return of the historic Greenwich Fair, with life size Punch and Judy puppets, an outdoor aquarium and more free fun.

The Greenwich Festival is a larger than life theatrical event where crowds are invited to marvel at some of the world’s most impressive shows. The atmosphere promises to be electric throughout the festival, with plenty to keep children and adults entertained.

The Greenwich and Docklands Festival takes place in Greenwich, Docklands and surrounding areas from Friday 24th June – Saturday 2nd July 2011.
