See the Greenwich Christmas lights switch on take place and welcome in the festive season on Friday 5th December at Greenwich Market.

A perfect event for kids and family, and those that love a little festive sparkle, the lights will be switched on and a whole host of Christmas events will take place. You can look forward all kinds of seasonal fun. Kids will be delighted by the arrival of Santa in his grotto, and there will be live music to entertain everyone at the market. A lantern parade will light the way from the National Maritime Museum and end up at the Christmas market, where carol singing and mulled wine will keep everyone in the festive spirit.

Fans of panto will be delighted by the mini performance by the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk, beffore they turn on the Greenwich Christmas lights and cast the market in a Yuletide glow. The Greenwich Christmas lights are due to be switched on between 3pm - 5pm on Friday 5th December 2008, and will stay switched on until Monday 5th January 2009.
