Greenwich Park covers 73 hectares and is the oldest enclosed Royal Park. Situated on a hilltop with impressive views across the River Thames it provides a home for several historic buildings, including the Old Royal Observatory and the Royal Naval College.

There has been a settlement on the site of Greenwich Park since Roman times. The land was inherited by Henry V's brother and has been a particular favourite of the monarchy ever since.

Greenwich Park is home to some seriously interesting things, namely the Old Royal Observatory and the Observatory Planetarium (visits by appointment). There is also a bandstand, children's playground and the facilities for summer puppet shows and workshops.

The park is used extensively for rugby, cricket, frisbee and football. There are also six hard tennis courts and a putting green.

Food can be found at the Tea House and the Saint Mary's Gate Cafe.
