The Greenwich Wheel is sure to be one of the biggest attractions in East London over summer 2008, as the 55 metre high structure gives amazing views out across the city. Located next to the fantastic Old Royal Naval College, itself a hot spot for kids and visitors, the Greenwich Wheel adds another dimension to the existing attraction.

Higher than Nelson's Column and with views of the some of the most famous London landmarks of all, the Greenwich Wheel is set to rival the London Eye for amazing panoramas across St Pauls Cathedral, the Tower of London, Canary Wharf, Hampstead Heath and the Olympic site in Lea Valley.

Underneath the Greenwich Wheel you will be able to see the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site from an unusual perspective. As you cross the meridian line you will be able to take in the vista on this fascination trip through 360 degrees around the surrounding area, and see areas of London that you have never seen from the air before.

Although this new observation wheel will be the first to be situted in Greenwich, The Great Wheel was built here for the Earl's Court exhibition of 1895. The 2008 Greenwich Wheel is set next to the Pepys Building Visitor Centre giving you the chance to see some of the other attractions and exciting things that take place at the Old Royal Naval College at the same time.

The Greenwich Wheel will be open until the 28th September 2008. Tickets are £7.00 for adults, £4.50 for kids, and an entire pod costs £30.00. The pods hold six people and the ride lasts for 12 minutes.
