The events for Halloween at ICA are expected to be an extravagant night of spookyness for 31st October 2008 as the Institute brings you films, theatre and cocktails all with a distinctly ghostly theme. Whether you want to sip on some Halloween style cocktails or scare yourself silly in the cinema, there is plenty to get your fake vampire teeth into this Halloween at ICA.

Kicking off with some seriously spooky film screenings, the night of horror and fun begins in the ICA cinemas with showings of the violent Korean thriller A Bloody Aria, followed by British classic Theatre of Blood, and then to top it all, the really very scary Japanese cult movie, The Ring.

For those that like their Halloween events a little more interactive, there is the chance to win a bottle of Champagne courtesy of the host Ma Butcher, renowned for her role in the ICA gay bingo sessions. Dress up in your best and scariest costume for Halloween at ICA to be in with a chance to win, and dance the night away to an eclectic mix of electro, disco, pop, rock, showtunes and soundtracks.

Food and drink will be available throughout the night to ensure that the ghosts and ghoulies don’t go hungry. Head chef Amanda Wilson will be providing you with some delicious British classics, such as potted salt beef with crispy bread, crumbed fish and chips with minty mushy peas and organic chicken burger with wild mushrooms and farmhouse Cheddar cheese. Cocktails will be taking on a spooky theme for the night of Halloween at ICA, with the Skelitini, mixing bourbon, chambord and fresh blackberries into a one off witches potion.

To round off the evening of frights and horrors, the theatre will be taken over for Halloween at ICA by a special combination of terrifying theatrics. Late Noon Sun is a theatre piece that combines animation, live performance and a 3D sound environment that will be showing three times during the night, giving you plenty of opportunity to give yourself the willies.

The party for Halloween at ICA takes place from 8pm to 1am; Late Night Sun will be showing at 6.30pm, 8.30pm, and 10.30pm; films in the ICA cinemas are screening at 6.15pm, 6.30pm, and 9pm.
