Enjoy the last of the summer evenings with the Hampton Court open air cinema. A double film screening takes place in the historic palace grounds, making a great night out for kids and family.

Everyone loves a classic fairytale, and where better to see one (or even two) than in the gorgeous surrounds of one of London's most famous palaces. The Hampton Court open air cinema will be screening two such delightful films, that will capture your kids imagination and make you long for the romantic days of knights in shining armour on white chargers.

Up on the huge 40 metre open air cinema screen will be the Princess Bride and A Knight's Tale, both films that have a magical and Medieval air about them, that will bring to life the kind of people who would have lived at Hampton Court Palace, hundreds of years ago. The Princess Bride is the first film to be screened on the Hampton Court open air cinema, featuring the beautiful Buttercup who must be rescued from a miscreant gang by the handsome Prince Humperdinck and the Dread Prirate Roberts.

The second film to capture the magic and mysticism of the days of chivalry is A Knights Tale, starring Heath Ledger. Wonderfully romantic and full of fantastic jousting scenes, you can enjoy men galloping on horseback, beautiful princesses and plot inspired by the best storyteller of his day, Chaucer.

Perfect entertainment for kids with a great imagination, you can bring a picnic and settle down for an evening of fantastic film fun, as the historic palace resounds with the sound of sword fights and romantic endeavours.

The Hampton Court open air cinema opens at 6.30pm with screenings beginning at 7.15pm. Tickets are £5.00 for adults, and children under 10 are free when accompanied by an adult.
