Giving visitors the chance to get their hands on history, the Tower of London's new exhibition replicates items from the Royal Armouries and other collections to allow people to give them a good feel. Going beyond the normal museum rules, the Hands on History exhibition encourages visitors to touch and feel items inspired by ten centuries of Tower history.

With the aim of allowing visitors to get a better understanding of the items on show, the experience includes a chance to see what a medieval jouster would have seen through the visor of his helmet and the opportunity to draw a medieval bow, where you can see how strong you are compared to a master bowman from hundreds of years ago.

Once home to the Royal Mint, the exhibition honours this with a display that tells the history of the mint and has enlarged coins from the reigns of William I, who built the tower, Edward III, Edward IV, Charles I and George II as they are shown the 500 year history of coin making at the Tower.
