Welcoming Father Christmas back into his grotto, the Harrods Christmas Parade signals the start of a magical festive season at the world famous department store. With a series of fantastic characters and of course, the jolly red fat man himself, kids and family will be delighted by the 2008 Harrods Christmas Parade.

Based on the theme of the Cinderella story, this year’s Harrods Christmas Parade celebrates the one hundredth appearance of Father Christmas at Harrods for the festive period. Taking up his annual residence in the grotto, he will arrive in grand style along with Mrs Claus as part of the spectacular parade.

100 years of Father Christmas
Cinderella is a well known and well loved fairytale and this year will add an extra touch of magic and sparkle to the Harrods Christmas Parade. Sure to enchant both children and family and get them in the mood for Christmas 2008, the parade will be an extra special event as it welcomes Father Christmas back to the Harrods grotto experience for the 100th year in a row.

After the parade has finished, Father Christmas will be whisked up to his grotto to get ready for Christmas and welcoming hundreds of children. Giving the old man a treat for the winter season, Harrods has created another festive grotto for Father Christmas to spend the run up to Christmas in. A fantastic treat for kids of all ages, the Harrods grotto is the ultimate in seasonal fun.

The Harrods Christmas Parade event, with the Once Upon a Time parade due to arrive at 8.30am, takes place on Saturday 1st November 2008. The best viewing is on Basil Street.
