Hatton Garden Jewellery Week sees a whole seven days dedicated to the things that make all girls' eyes light up. With over 800 jewellers and manufactors located in Hatton Garden, which accounts for more than a third of all jewellers in the entire city, this is the perfect location for a celebration of jewellery and all that sparkles.

Kicking off on the 9th June 2008 with a £240,000 couture platinum wedding dress to launch the event, the Hatton Garden Jewellery Week will see plenty of fabulous events taking place to celebrate our love of jewellery. From whisky tastings to exhibitions, historic walks to talks on jewellery design, and seminars on how to buy diamonds, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets.

No doubt one of the biggest attractions throughout the week will be the platinum and diamond handbah which is on show at the Nicholas James store in Hatton Garden. Covered with over 2,000 diamonds and made entirely with the world's most precious metal, the bag is certainly a one off and destined to reside on one very lucky lady's shoulder.

One of the highlights of the Hatton Garden Jewellery Week will no doubt be the Hatton Garden studios designer showcase. Taking place at the Nicholas James Gallery over the entire week, the shop will host the best and most exciting jewellery designs from the contemporary jewellers in that area. For those that want to know more about how the jewellery is made, some behind the scenes tours will take place of the craft studios at Craft Central on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th June.

Struggling to get your man interested in jewellery? Try combining a trip to one of the most stylish jewellers with some food to tempt him. Complimentary Champagne and canapes await you at Beverly Hills on Saturday 14th June, or you can learn about the history of gemstones with a food and wine tasting event at 54 Restaurant on Monday 9th and Thursday 12th June. Or simply head to the classic world renowned store of De Beers on Tuesday 10th June for a night of diamonds and Champagne.

All throughout the week you can learn about how gemstones are mined, where they come from, the best cuts for each stone, and see how the deisgners go about their work. In a real celebration of bling and sparkle, the Hatton Garden Jewellery Week is the perfect excuse to treat yourself to a few luxurious events and perhaps indulge in a spot of shopping too.
