The Henry Moore exhibition London event is a major show that brings together some of the his most famous pieces from the enormous collection. With over 150 significant pieces included in the Henry Moore exhibition, London art fans are in for a treat in 2010.

Henry Moore exhibition
London is the lucky city that is playing host to this major retrospective from the world famous sculptor as Tate Britain promises to re-assert Henry Moore's postition as one of the greatest 20th century artists to emerge from Britain. Charting his career from the early days of his work in the First World War, right up until his death in the seventies, the Henry Moore exhibition explores all aspects of his art.

Classic subjects
Renowned for his stylised representations of the human form, Tate Britain presents a range of subject matter from the sculptor. The Henry Moore exhibition emphasises his work in the context of its history and looks at the darker, and more erotically charged pieces as they emerged. Subject matters range from the war to the emerging world of psychoanalysis, new ideas about sexuality and the influence of surrealism, making this one of the most comprehensive, yet challenging Henry Moore exhibitions in recent years.

Reclining figures
One of the most iconic images created by Henry Moore is that of the stylised reclining figure, carved from stone, bronze or wood. At the Henry Moore exhibition, London and the rest of the UK is invited to see the largest number of Reclining Figures ever brought together, made from Elm wood. The ongoing motif of the Mother and Child figures are thoroughly explored too, making this a must see exhibition for any fan of Moore's work.

War artist and world influence
Henry Moore was used as an official war artist during the Second World War, and his hundreds of sketches are also on show at the Tate Britain exhibition. He documented the affect of the Blitz on Londoners, and continued to draw scenes from around the devastated city until well into the 1950s. The Henry Moore exhibition London event will also look at the influence of different cultures from around the world, not just Britain as art from primitive masks and the tension of the Spanish Civil War inspired him.

The Henry Moore exhibition at Tate Britain takes place from 24th February - 15th August 2010. For more information or to book tickets for the event, click on the link below.
