Herbal, set in the heart of creative and vibrant Hoxton, certainly gives competitors a run for their money when it comes to being an all round crowd pleaser.

The Venue
Herbal is located on Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, with Old Street Station close by and plenty of free parking to be found all around. Due to the ever expanding area in which you find this little gem, it has to be special to keep up - and it is. Set in an old warehouse building, it retains some original East End charm with its bare brick walls and timber beams. As you enter the small doorway and pass down the narrow corridor to the first room, you expect it to be bigger and it has that underground feel to it that so many London clubs have lost. The upstairs room is filled with nooks and crannies to lose yourself in. There is also a boastful roof terrace for the ever decreasing smokers but being such an intimate venue its good to be able to come outside for a breather, whether you’re a smoker or not.

The Atmosphere
The vibe in this club has definitely got a lot to do with their amazing sound system, which is often mentioned but really is better than most, and for those that go to Herbal regularly it’s all about the music! If you remember when you first heard an ipod after being quite happy with your CD walkman then you’ll know what it feel like to come here - you suddenly realise why everyone goes on about it so much.

The Music
Just about every genre of music will be featured at Herbal at some point, so whatever your bag, if you pick your night carefully you’re going to be smiling. They play host to many different nights including the whole house range, hip hop, funk, soul, '80s, DnB and RnB - you name it, you’ll find a night that plays it by some of the biggest names on the scene. The sound system is something that has to be heard to be believed!

The Drink
For the area, you’ll be surprised at how reasonable the drinks are, and they are even served with a smile. Expect a good choice of beers, shots and spirits – it really is best to leave the car at home.

The Last Word
In short, you can’t go to Herbal and not enjoy yourself. It’s got everything the discerning clubber needs – so what you waiting for?
