The Hide and Seek Festival London event is set to take over the National Theatre and all its various spaces with a huge programme of social games and playful experiences. The Hide and Seek Weekender aims to encourage Londoners to look at their city differently, and give everyone a real sense of play as they take part in some fantastic games.

Hide and Seek Festival London
Newly reimagined parlour games, social gaming, adventures in the world of cinema and cleverness and nonsense in equal measure are just a few of the things you can expect to see over the course of the Hide and Seek Festival London weekender. Celebrating the new cultural phenomenon of social games and interactive creativity that seems to have taken over this summer, the Hide and Seek event is a three day extravaganza of free games and play, encouraging you to look at at the world around you with new eyes.

Take part in all the fun
You can sign up for big events, take part in puzzle solving or storytelling games, or simply jump in the sandpit for a whole load of high and low tech gaming fun. The third such festival to grace the South Bank Centre, the 2010 Hide and Seek Festival London event is the first such event to take place at the National Theatre and challenges Londoners to find the fun in their city as it brings together a wide spectrum of renowned artists and game players from across the world.

Get creative
Guaranteed to create a sense of fun, wonder and abandon that is all too often missing from everyday life of work, pub and sleep, the free weekend of games and play at the National Theatre celebrates all the creativity and social interaction that games have to offer while giving you the opportunity of playing around and generally giggling like a five year old.

Activities on offer
Games fans can arm themselves with sonar goggles, blindfolds and a range of electronic devices for high tech tomfoolery along the South Bank, as well as play a supersized game of Pass the Parcel. For 2010 there is something that will appeal to everyone over the Hide and Seek weekender, from social games to solo adventures, you will revel in the chance to play games and bring out your inner naughty child.

The Hide and Seek Festival London weekender takes place in and around the National Theatre from Friday 9th July - Sunday 11th July 2010. Admission is free, and tickets for specific games will be allocated on the day. For a full list of games and events, click on the link below for more information.
