The Horn of Plenty exhibition at Viktor Wynd's Little Shop of Horrors invites you to step into the creepy and and curious world of the fairy tale. Bringing together art from all over the world, the exhibition examines the ways in which fairy tales and folk lore have been part of childhood cultures since time immemorial.

Horn of Plenty
The Horn of Plenty exhibition takes its theme from the horn or cornucopia which is a symbollic horn filled with an everlasting supply of celebratory fruit. Renowned from Greek mythology as being the horn of a goat that raised Zeus, the Horn of Plenty gives whoever owns it supernatural power and the desire to achieve whatever they wish for.

Fairy tales and folk lore
International artists, designers, filmmakers and sculptors all have work featured in the Horn of Plenty exhibition at The Shop of Horrors, which looks at the folk tales, fables, myths and legends from across history. With traditional characters from fairy tales that everyone will recognise to the more obscure references, the exhibition takes you down a dark and twisted path of beauties and beasts.

Artists on show
Many artists throughout history have been fascinated by the world of the fairy tale, and have created their own versions of the fairies and monsters on canvas. If you want to believe in fairies, just like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle or Peter Pan, then pop along and see the work of Paula Rego, Rachel Whiteread, Mat Collishaw, Gavin Turk and Cornelia Parker amongst others.

Viktor Wynd's Little Shop of Horrors
Viktor Wynd is renowned across London for presenting all kinds of curious and unusual evenings as part of the Last Tuesday Society. Now he has opened his own shop selling peculiar articles such as human feotuses, shrunken heads, pickled puppies and mutated teddy bears. Whilst you browse the Horn of Plenty exhibition highlights, you can take the opportunity to check out the bizarre offerings on sale from Mr Wynd. You never know, you may find the perfect Christmas present for your strange cousin or spot a fantastic gift for your quirky uncle.

The Horn of Plenty exhibition takes place at Viktor Wynd's Little Shop of Horrors, 12am - 6pm, Tuesday - Sunday, from Thursday 3rd - Wednesday 30th December 2009.
