Head to the Hula Hoop Hop at Southbank Centre and start shimmying those hips during an afternoon of free workshops and pop up performances.

Hula hooping craze
It's the latest craze to take the capital by storm, and now hula hooping gets a whole afternoon dedicated to it with the Hula Hoop Hop at Southbank Centre. Build your core muscle strength, tone your waist, get a fitness workout and above all have fun in the Clore Ballroom, at an event that's open to all ages and abilities.

Free workshops
Combining a fitness workout with visually impressive performances, Hula Hoop Hop at Southbank Centre features everything from hoop dance routines to circus skills. The event is hosted by Hoop La La's Jessie Rose, and at the day of free workshops you can get to grips with basic techniques as well as learn some fancy moves.

Live performances
As well as the chance to get involved yourself, Hula Hoop Hop at Southbank Centre also features performances from some of London's foremost hoop groups and the international star Marawa the Amazing. The Broken Hearts will also be taking to the DJ decks to spin vintage, retro and hip hop music that you can hoop to.

Hula Hoop Hop at Southbank Centre starts 1pm, Saturday 6th November 2010. The event takes place within the Clore Ballroom. The workshops are open to all ages and abilities, and admission is free.

Please note that although some hula hoops are provided, it's recommended that you bring your own if possible.
