Get all sticky fingered at the Chelsea rib eating competition this 4th July to celebrate Independence Day at Big Easy.

Top button undone
A meaty mountain of the best in American barbeque awaits ten guys and girls who will go head to head in the chomping challenge at the Chelsea barbecue and crabshack venue. In a jaw breaking thirty minutes, the competitors must devour as much of the home-smoked hide as they can in commemoration of American Independence Day. At Big Easy, its all about keeping cool and kicking back, which may well be all contestants are capable of after their monstrous meal, but for those who are still feeling frivolous, live music begins at 8pm for a hoe down 'til the early hours.

The loot
Spending this Independence Day at Big Easy could bring gut busting benefits to the meat-eating master. Just in case you haven't had enough from the American menu, the rib eating winner gets a £100 Big Easy voucher for yet more of the generous grub, as well as their name engraved on the Big Easy wall of fame and the opportunity to defend their title the following year.

Independence Day dishes at Big Easy
For those who aren't up for this enormous eating endeavour, the menu also boasts new dishes inspired by Independence Day at Big Easy, including crispy chicken, hot and spicy chilli dogs, and a la mode apple pie for dessert.

Toasting the Stars and Stripes
As well as finger lickin' food, Independence Day at Big Easy would not be complete without a cocktail or two. Never a culture to do anything by half, the American venue is providing specially made red, white and blue margaritas to raise a glass for the land of the free.

Don your Stetson and saddle up
The Independence Day feast begins at 6pm and is totally free to enter, but be warned, spaces are limited. To sign up, email enquiries@bigeasy.uk.com with your full name.

The Big Easy Rib Eating competition starts 6pm, Monday 4th July 2011.
