Part of the Lates London series of late night events around the city, Independence Day at British Museum gives you the chance to go all out American for the evening.

American art is represented on Independence Day at British Museum with an Andy Warhol art workshop and you can also take a trip around the American Scene exhibition, which features great American artists from the twenties onwards. Here you can see print making demonstrations or try your hand at Native American craft activiies in the galleries.

Get in the American mood with a swing band, lindy hopping and line dancing in the Great Court, or simply chill with some very cool jazz. Catch some classic basketball games, or even see an American car show. Beer tasting is also set to be part of the fun of the evening as the British Museum invites you to crack open a few bottles of American beer and imagine yourself in a bar in Boston.

More sport is in the offing as American Football demonstrations take place, and there will be plenty of talks about American culture and the influence of the US on the rest of the world.

Topping it all off with traditional American style food and drink (aerosol cheese in a can anyone?) on sale, American Independence Day at British Museum is the only option for expats to feel at home this 4th July.

Free to enter the events and activities on Independence Day at British Museum take place from 6:30pm to 9pm.
