Take a free guided tour of Holborn and surrounding areas during the festive season with one of the Inmidtown Christmas walks. Led by professional guide and local historian Aly Mir, the walks take around 45 minutes and begin from Holborn tube station.

Festive wanders
With a variety of historical walks taking place throughout the year, the Inmidtown Christmas walks add a number of festive themed events to the guided tours programme. The festive walks begin on Wednesday 8th December with the Christmas Story guided walk, taking in sights such as the venue where the world's first Christmas card was printed and an important site from British pantomime's early history.

Christmas Crackers
Also available as part of the Inmidtown Christmas walks is the Christmas Crackers tour on Friday 10th December, which includes surprises such as the birthplace of a man who put his wife's corpse on display and the site from which the origins of a famous card game can be traced. The walk ends in a local cafe for Christmas cake and warming seasonal drinks.

Pub crawl
The season of Inmidtown Christmas walks ends with the pub crawls on Wednesday 15th December and Friday 17th December. This guided walk takes you past notable pubs in Bloomsbury and St Giles before ending in a pub in Holborn for festive refreshments.

The Inmidtown Christmas walks take place on Wednesday 8th December, Friday 10th December, Wednesday 15th December and Friday 17th December 2010. The walks start at 1pm at Holborn tube station. Admission is free.
