Italian Festival at Coach and Horses

The Italian festival at Coach and Horses will see a fortnight of fabulous food, all centring around a traditional Italian procession on Sunday 20th July. Celebrating la bella cucina, the Italian Festival runs from Monday 14th to Sunday 27th July and will give you the chance to indulge in some serious tasty Italian dishes.

All kinds of different events are taking place during the Italian festival at Coach and Horses in July, with wine and food tastings, as well as the fabulous procession and feast on Sunday 20th. And during the two week festival at Coach and Horses you can tuck into delicious Italian food every day.

A special Italian wine tasting and food pairing evening takes place on Wednesday 16th July costing just £10.00 per person. Starting at 7pm, the evening will be one of the highlights of the Italian festival at Coach and Horses, where you can enjoy all the best that Italy has to offer.

The traditional Italian procession and festival that takes place in Clerkenwell annually is the Procession of the Lady of Mount Carmel. Having happened in London since the 1880s, this Catholic procession sees a whole day of floats and entertainment around the Clerkenwell streets, and passes directly by the Coach and Horses pub. Thousands of people flock to see the procession every year, so you can be sure that the day is a vibrant one of colour and entertainment for all.

On Sunday 20th July the Coach and Horses will host a full blown Italian inspired Sunday lunch with a festive atmopshere. Including such delights as insalat caprese, and pasta al pesto, there will also be more extravagant items like polenta with field mushrooms and gorgonzola, confit of lamb shoulder with aubergine caponata. Smaller dishes are also available for around just £4.00 each or three for £10.00 meaning you can try a little of everything without getting too stuffed!
