With stage performances, market stalls and events for kids and families, the Japan Matsuri London Festival is bound to prove popular with fans of Japanese food and culture. For 2011, the festival moves from its home at Old Spitalfields Market to the County Hall Riverside Building for a day of bankside fun and activities.

Food market
One of the highlights of the Japan Matsuri London Festival is bound to be the market, where you can pick up a variety of Japanese food and drink. Shoppers can also browse the market stalls for Japanese arts and crafts, clothes and more artisan products.

Opening ceremony
The events at the Japan Matsuri London Festival begin with a special opening ceremony, featuring traditional customs such as the cracking of a sake barrel. Alongside the live performances on stage, there's also the chance to see some contemporary Japanese art at the festival's exhibition space.

The Japan Matsuri London Festival takes place from 11am, Sunday 18th September 2011. Admission is free.
