Jarvis Cocker Yoga Class London

Do the Salute to the Sun and other yoga moves accompanied by live music from the former Pulp frontman at the Jarvis Cocker yoga class London event at Village Underground.

Yoga and aerobics at Village Underground
Taking place across five days, the arts event gives members of the public the chance to jam with Jarvis Cocker and his band or work out at yoga and aerobics sessions while accompanied by a live soundtrack. The Jarvis Cocker yoga class London event follows a similar stunt by the high profile musician at the Galerie Chappe in Paris earlier on in 2009.

Jam sessions
Joined by members of his band and other fellow musicians, Jarvis Cocker is taking up residency at Village Underground for a series of live shows and improvised jam sessions. The exhibition of live music starts at 12pm every day of the residency, and is free to attend. If you're a budding musician who'd like the chance to play with Jarvis and all the other musicians taking part in the Jarvis Cocker yoga class London arts event then you must bring along your own instrument, although amplification is provided.

Fitness classes
If you don't have the necessary skills to play in the musical improvisations then you can still take part in the interactive arts event by attending one of the exercises classes, which will be accompanied by the live music. Bring your own exerciser mat and pull your best cobra, cat or tree pose and practise your deep breathing technique at the Jarvis Cocker yoga class London sessions before letting the music wash over you during the meditation sessions. Other fitness classes such as aerobics may also be on the programme.

Closing concert
The arts sessions at Village Underground come to an end with a grand concert, in which Jarvis Cocker and his fellow musicians will close the creative and unusual arts event in grand style.

The musical jam sessions and Jarvis Cocker yoga class London events take place at Village Underground from 12pm - 6pm daily from Sunday 8th November - Wednesday 11th November 2009. Admission is free.

The closing concert starts at 9pm, Wednesday 11th October. Tickets cost £30.00.
