Head to the Jolly Day Out Festival at Hampton Court for a long weekend packed full of family friendly fun.
Music and more
Taking over Hampton Court Green with live music, children's shows and more, the Jolly Day Out Festival should be a hit with families over the August bank holiday weekend. Headline acts taking to the stage during the festival include Imelda May, Bjorn Again and McFly, while there's more music in the form of a special Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music film screening.
Events for kids
There's plenty to keep all ages amused during the Jolly Day Out Festival, with a theatre tent staging shows such as Charlie & Lola's Best Bestest Play and Horrible Histories. Away from the theatre tent, kids can also enjoy hourly storytelling from The Roald Dahl Museum, as well as interactive demonstrations and experiments with the Science Museum.
Summer festival
Other events bound to get your little ones hopping with delight at the Jolly Day Out Festival include circus skill workshops, face painting, funfair rides and arts and crafts activities. There's also some quirky country pursuits to enjoy such as welly wangling, pig racing and even a dancing sheep show.
Fabulous food
Meanwhile, children and adults of all ages can browse the summer market for cakes and fudge, while Jamie Oliver's Fabulous Feasts will be offering one pot wonders such as pasta, stews and casseroles. Meanwhile, adults can relax and unwind with the help of something bubbly from the Pimms, beer and champagne tents.
Fireworks finale
As a grand finale to all the live bands, stage shows, family workshops and special events, a huge fireworks display will round off the festival in grand style. See the night sky above Hampton Court lit up by a colourful pyrotechnics display on bank holiday Monday.
The Jolly Day Out Festival takes place from Friday 26th August - Monday 29th August 2011. Doors open at 12pm, with the headline act on stage by 8pm.
Tickets cost £25.00 for adults. Each adult ticket also includes two free tickets for kids under the age of 12.
Please note that there is an additional charge of £4.50 per person for Theatre Tent tickets.
