Kate and William Croquet Cup

Named in honour of the royal newlyweds, the Kate and William Croquet Cup takes place at Victoria Park on the day of the wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Mallets at the ready
With an afternoon of free croquet to look forward to, the Kate and William Croquet Cup is certainly an unusual way to spend the bank holiday Friday. All you need to do to take part in the tournament is find a partner, register your team and then head to Victoria Park for an afternoon of hitting balls through hoops.

Fancy dress fun
To get in the spirit for the royal wedding, those taking part in the Kate and William Croquet Cup are invited to come in fancy dress, with prizes to be won for the best dressed team. The tournament is open to all levels of player, with coaches on hand to put beginners through their paces.

Bank holiday events
As well as the Kate and William Croquet Cup at Victoria Park, there are plenty of other events taking place over the long bank holiday weekend for the royal wedding. See the wedding live on big screens at Trafalgar Square and Hyde Park, indulge in a special afternoon tea or join one of the many street parties across London.

The Kate and William Croquet Cup takes place from 2pm - 5pm, Friday 29th April 2011 on the lawns to the left of the Bonner Gate entrance at Victoria Park. Admission is free but you must register your team in advance by emailing croqueteast@gmail.com.
