The Keep Me Posted exhibition takes place at an old Post Office in Hackney that has been transformed into a temporary exhibition space. Celebrating the history of the post and how it has been a major part of life for over one hundred years, Posted launches with the first of its exhibitions in summer 2010.

Keep Me Posted exhibition
Featuring work from a variety of different artists both established and up and coming, Keep Me Posted showcases work that has been inspired by what the post means them. With themes such as parcels, everyday bills and the Penny Black stamp, the art on show invites you to explore the personal meaning of letters and their means of delivery.

Tracey Emin at Posted
Alongside work from newly established, big name artists such as Tracey Emin have also contributed towards the exhibition. Tracey Emin is not just be examing the personal nature of post, but is encouraging a revival of good old fashioned letter writing. She has created a special stationery set that is on view and available to buy from Posted throughout the Keep Me Posted exhibition, along with fellow artist Georgie Hopton. Visitors are encouraged to scribe their own letters there and then, before posting them off in the George V post box outside.

General Post Office
As the GPO used to be a much more significant part of our daily lives in Britain, with regular post throughout the day, the decline of the deliveries has impacted on our over reliance on modern technological means for communication. Here you can step back in time and see some films that were commissioned by the GPO created by leading artists and designers of their day, alongside artwork that has been produced by old material left behind when this branch of the Post Office closed.

The Keep Me Posted exhibition takes place from 11am - 5pm, Thursday - Sunday, from Friday 2nd July - Sunday 26th September 2010 at Posted. Entrance is free.
