Kicks n Canvas Exhibition London

When

Friday 9th April - Saturday 24th April 2010

Where

Secret London Location

The Kicks n Canvas exhibition London event takes place in April this year to celebrate the best in street and graffiti art and sneakers. Featuring work from the likes of Goldie, Inkie, Copyright and Zoot, this is your chance to see one of the coolest art shows to take place in 2010.

Kicks n Canvas exhibition
London is no stranger to graffiti art as artists spray their work on derelict builings, in subways and on walls all over the city. Now, Zero Cool art gallery have joined together with sneaker retailer Sole Heaven to combine the best in street art with street wear in the Kicks n Canvas exhibition.

Hip hop culture
Combining all aspects of hip hop culture in art, fashion, music and dance, this exhibition is the end result of a challenge to 20 different artists to attack a brand new, plain white pair of sneakers with their artwork. They will also be invited to cover a 50cm x 50cm canvas to show alongside the trainers. Contemporary artists, sculptors, street artists and writers are all involved in the Kicks n Canvas exhibition making it a truly refreshing show.

Live performances
To kick start the launch of the exhibtion which is taking place in an as yet unnamed surprise location, the preview night will see some live performances to accompany the artwork on display. Bringing down the house with their DJing, MCing and breaking, several artists will be entertaining those lucky enough to get on the guest list with their skills. More live shows and painting sessions are taking place throughout the duration of the Kicks n Canvas exhibition every Saturday in the gallery space.

Buy a piece of art
As sneakers become more and more iconic with each and every new design, they have started to transcend the world of fashion and become more like works of art. As the trainers on show in the Kicks n Canvas exhibition have been customized by some of the hottest graffiti artists around, this is the ideal show for anyone who loves fashion and art. And as each and every work that is on show is up for sale, this is your chance to take a home very wearable piece of art.

The Kicks n Canvas exhibition London event takes place from 10am - 6pm, Friday 9th April - Saturday 24th April 2010, with live painting shows every Saturday. Performance times and the exact venue location are yet to be confirmed - click back soon for more information.

The opening night event takes place on Thursday 8th April 2010 - if you would like to get on the guest list, click on the link below for more information.
