Kids Week 2009Kids Week 2009 is a fabulous chance to get your little prima donnas and your mini Pavarottis out into the theatre and enjoying all the free and fun events on offer.
Summer holiday funRunning from the 14th August - 28th August, Kids Week 2009 is a chance to get great access to the theatres in London. Celebrating their 12th birthday this year, the Kids Week crew give one child the chance to go to a vast range of theatre shows for free, when accompanied by a paying adult. With two more kids able to go for half price, the event is a brilliant way to keep children entertained during the school holidays and a chance for a great family day out in the city.
Kids theatre showsWith a huge long list of shows to choose from, the only difficulty with Kids Week 2009 is choosing which theatres to go to and which activities to take part in. Wicked, Hairspray, and Sister Act are just some of the great shows to be seen in 2009, along with a host of as yet unconfirmed productions. Kids Week 2009 guarantees to bring your kids even more theatrical fun than last year.
Activities for kidsAnd if your kids have been inspired by the great theatre they have seen, why not see if you can get them on the stage too? Last year during Kids Week the Theatre Museum held workshops that gave kids of all ages the chance to learn to sword fight the Shakespearian way. Workshops planned for 2009 include sessions to show children how to move like greased lightening with dance classes, as well as singing lessons and the opportunity to take part in loads of fun kids activities.
Singing and dancing for allCovent Garden is often thought of as the heart of dance and classical music London, and during Kids Week 2008 there were many special events taking place there. From the drama and costume classes to singing and dancing sessions, there was something to grab every child's attention. The plans for 2009 will be finalised soon, so chack back later for further information and updates.
