The Kinetica Art Fair London event is back for 2011 with even more weird and wonderful scientific art on show. The only exhibition in the UK dedicated to showcasing kinetic, robotic, sound, light and time based art, Kinetica 2012 invites you into a world of art with a life of its own.
Kinetica Art Fair
London is home to many art fairs, but none quite like Kinetica. Taking over the whole of Ambika P3, visitors to the fair can expect to see plenty of unusual art and installations, along with the chance to get involved with talks, workshops, performances and a chance to create some kinetic art all of your very own.
International art
Blurring the boundaries between art and science, the Kinetica Art Fair is bringing a whole host of international art to London for this year's show. Some fantastic new pieces will be unveiled as part of the fair, and work from the likes of Swiss artist Pascal Bettex, Ronin Cho of South Korea, British based Robert Moore and David Ogle, and Ruey-Shiann Shyu from Taiwan all on show.
Back for another electronic show
Three years ago the world's first Kinetica Art Fair hosted by the Kinetica Museum saw 9,000 people visit the exhibition. Kinetic art was sold to visitors, collectors and galleries from around the globe, and this year looks to be even bigger and better with work from around 35 different galleries and organisations on show and over 150 different artists taking part. Prices start from as little as £200.00 and go up to £35,000, so you could find yourself coming home with your very own holographic light being, or even a kinetic sculpture.
Exhibition highlights
A hit with everyone who visited the Kinetica Art Fair London event last year, are sure to be the Holotronica project which combines live electronic music with realitime holographic visual synthesis, or the sculptures Cosmic Dancer, which was specifially designed and created to be presented in an outer space environment, and which transported to the Mir space station in 1993. Visitors also didn't want to leave the art fair without catching Ginna Lee's visibly emotional clothing, Greyworld's interactive tail for people, and Anna Dumitriu and Alex May's My Robot Companion, which mimicks the faces of those around it. And you can be sure of plenty more stunning installations at this year's fair too.
The Kinetica Art Fair London event is open from 10am - 8pm on Friday 10th February, 10am - 9pm on Saturday February 11th and 11am - 6pm on Sunday 12th February 2012.
The Kinetica Art Fair takes place from Friday 10th February - Sunday 12th February 2012. Tickets for the art fair cost £12.00 or £10.00 concession. A day ticket, which includes entrance to the fair, talks and performances is £15.00 and £12.00 concession. For more information and to book tickets, click on the link below.
