An exciting Lauren Child exhibition London event takes over the Discover centre meaning fans of her books can venture into the magical world of Charlie and Lola and That Pesky Rat.

Lauren Child exhibition
London is the very first location to host the brand new Lauren Child exhibition which highlights work by the author and illustrator in a fun and activity filled show. Mixing up drawings, activities, and hands on elements, kids can get really involved with the world of Lauren Child. With characters, scenes and themes brought to life in the Discover centre, this is the perfect day out for any child that adores her work.

Charlie and Lola
Two of Lauren Childs most famous creations have to be the cheeky and cheerful sibling duo Charlie and Lola. Having been transformed into a CBBC programme and even had their own Disney Playhouse TV series, the pair have been captivating parents and children in Childs books for the last ten years. These two along with other characters such as That Pesky Rat, Clarice Bean and Hubert Horatio Bartle Bobton-Trent are all included in the Lauren Child exhibition.

Exhibition highlights
Unlike most cartoon based exhibitions Green Drops and Moonsquirters gives kids the chance to sit at Charlie and Lola's kitchen table and make meals from their fridge. At the Discover Lauren Child exhibition children are also able to dress up in Charlie and Lola's favourite outfits, visit the alley where That Pesky Rat lives and perform their own puppet shows in a theatre created from The Princess and the Pea's four poster bed.

Illustrations
Having studied art at Manchester and worked as one of Damien Hirst's assistants, Lauren Child made the move into children's literature and illustration over ten years ago. Combining photography, illustration and collage you can see plenty of her delightful artworks on show at the Lauren Child exhibition, along with a selection of 3D sets and some dolls house furniture which was created for her version of The Princess and the Pea.

Green Drops and Moonsquirters, the Lauren Child exhibition London event takes place from 10am - 5pm Tuesday - Friday, 11am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday, from Saturday 2nd October - May 2012 at Discover.

Tickets are £4.50 and children under 2 are free. Please note that the venue is open everyday during the school holidays.
