Leonardo da Vinci at Queens Gallery
Set to be the largest ever exhibition of anatomy studies by da Vinci to take place, the 2012 opening will showcase these astonishing works of art and science to all Buckingham Palace visitors. Sure to be popular with local Londoners and tourists alike, this is the perfect chance to see some of the most treasured artefacts from the Royal Collection.
Renaissance genius
Long recognised as one of the greatest artists and thinkers of the Renaissance, the exhibition of work by Leonardo da Vinci at Queens Gallery also highlights he amazing understanding of the workings of the human body. Having intended to publish his anatomical findings, his drawings were left amongst his private papers on his death in 1519, and were in essence lost for nearly 400 years. Visitors to the exhibition will no doubt be astounded by his works, and realise the impact he would have made on European science and medicine at the time.
