Lewisham Peoples Day
Festival season is upon us once again, and this year seems to have one almost every weekend. But in your search to spend your free time dancing in the sunshine, don't forget that some of the oldest are the still the best. Back for its 27th year in a row, Lewisham Peoples Day is certain to put a swing in your step.

Eight themed stages
Heading up the entertainment at this year's Lewisham Peoples Day festival is a lineup of top acts, who will be performing alongside local talent at the show on the eight themed stages. There's also plenty of dancing to look forward to, so if you fancy throwing some shapes to some feel good music, you know where to go.

Music and entertainment
With over 1,000 different local and international performers taking to the stages at this year's festival you will be in for a treat if live entertainment is your thing. Different stages are showcasing theatre, music, circus, magic, art, sport, dance and cabaret, meaning the 2011 Lewisham Peoples Day will be crammed with fantastic artists and performances. Highlights for this year include Neville Staple from The Specials.

From ska legends to cream teas
Certainly one of the most eclectic lineups at any London festival, this year sees a huge variety in its lineup. Plenty of bands from Lewisham will be taking to the stage to deliver everything from folk music to ska. Meanwhile, food stalls and tents will be serving up delicious food and drink throughout the day, and there's even guerrilla knitting, interactive theatre and the Electro Swing Tea Rooms to enjoy.

The Lewisham Peoples Day festival takes place from 12pm - 8pm on Saturday 9th July 2011 at Mountsfield Park, Catford. Entrance is free.

Please note that no dogs are allowed in Mountsfield Park from 6am - 12am on the day of the festival.
