Liberty 2010

When

Saturday 4th September 2010

Where

Trafalgar Square

Liberty 2010 is London’s biggest showcase of disabled performers and entertainers, taking place at Trafalgar Square in September. Trafalgar Square will be alive with performances on the day from a line up of top artists, musicians, dancers and performers.

Celebrating 24 years of the Disability Arts Forum
This year marks the 24th anniversary of the London Disability Arts Forum and as such, Liberty 2010 is set to be another exciting and memorable festival. A selection of groups support Liberty, including Amici Dance Theatre, Cirque Nova and Emergency Exit Arts.

A party in Trafalgar Square
Visitors to Liberty 2010 can expect a day of fun and festivities, with a string of live performances in store. Highlights include live music from young bands The Fish Police, KDNA and Lizzie Emeh. There are also extracts from Reasons to be Cheerful, the new musical from the London based theatre group Graeae which draws inspiration from Ian Dury's songs. All are welcome to join the fun and make the most of a day of entertainment in support of worthy causes.

Acrobatic Liberty
One of the major attractions at this year's Liberty festival is set to be the stunning acrobatic acts. Enjoy aerial performances and acrobatic routines by Amici Dance Theatre and Cirque Nova, and let the kids explore the potential of wind at the Up In The Air themed children's zone, featuring wind machines and stimulating sounds and fabrics.

Equality and diversity
It goes without saying that London is a famously diverse city and events such as the Liberty 2010 festival act as further evidence of the city’s commitment to equality for all Londoners. Show some support on the day in what promises to be an energetic, upbeat day of live entertainment.

Eclectic entertainment
Music, dance, comedy, circus and carnival acts, children's art, stalls and displays and more will be served up on a rich menu of entertainment in London, courtesy of the city’s best disabled artists. Other highlights include cabaret acts, street arts and poetry as well as entertainment for kids.

Liberty 2010 takes place at Trafalgar Square on Saturday 6th September 2010. The event is free to attend. Click back soon for further information on the timetable of events.
