Song EAST
Kickstarting the season of live music at EAST Festival, the Song EAST events feature a series of free gigs taking place at intimate venues across the East End. Join blues inspired musician Muntu Valdo and other performers at Rough Trade East, Theatre Royal Stratford East, The Hoxton Apprentice and other venues for live music performances that won't cost you a penny.
Cycling tours
Get a breath of fresh air before taking in some exciting live music at EAST Festival on a Cycle East bicycle tour. Pedal your way between Rich Mix, Toynbee Studios and the Bethnal Green Working Mens Club to hear contemporary jazz from Soweto Kinch and Mercury Prize nominees Sweet Billy Pilgrim amongst others.
Portico Quartet
The Portico Quartet are bringing their own special brand of indie jazz to the Barbican as part of the live music at EAST Festival events, at a concert that starts at 7.30pm on Monday 8th March 2010. London Chamber Orchestra
Another innovative and unusual live music event connected to the EAST Festival comes in the form of short pieces performed by the London Chamber Orchestra. Showcasing the work of six composers inspired by East London architecture, the five minute performances take place from 10am - 5pm, Saturday 6th March, at The Octagon.
