The ViewLondon Review
From Prince to Pink, Madonna to Metallica, big on music and atmosphere, The Astoria is your one stop shop to a great night out.The VenueAccommodating both club nights and live music, The Astoria has an outstanding reputation which precedes it. An ample sized stage and a generous dance floor lend themselves to the venue's versatility. The sound is good and the stage lighting exceptional, adding the finishing touch to a polished live act.
The AtmosphereBlack is always flavour of the month when it comes to the decor, but far from dampening the atmosphere this automatically draws your attention to the stage. Over a decade of storming events and gigs have seen the interior taking a bit of a battering, but the layout of seating and the huge balcony give a perfect view from anywhere in the venue.
The MusicThe crowd consists of a wide variety of age and styles depending on the individual nights, but there is always a friendly vibe, which extends to both staff and doormen. Full of passion, the crowd don’t hold back and you can be sure of a memorable night particularly if you find your way to the centre of the dance floor where all the action takes place.
The DrinkWhilst drinks are just above the London average in price, and the bar doesn't offer the widest selection, service is nevertheless quick and allows you to get straight back to the business of enjoying a cracking night out.
The Last WordIt’s not the prettiest venue, but The Astoria is certainly one of the best. Check out the listings prior to your night out as the festivities do vary quite dramatically, but rest assured, for live music it doesn’t get much better than this.
