The London Design Festival 2008 is jam packed with talks, workshops, exhibitions, seminars, conferences and the chance to see and hear from London's very best designers. With its head quarters at the arts hub of London, the Southbank Centre and events taking place all over the city, there is plenty to do and see for everyone with a creative eye and an interest in style.

London Design Festival 2008
A massive design festival and celebration of all things design related, installations, discussions, competitions and shopping events are just some of the kinds of events you can expect to attend during the London Design Festival weeks. With environmental issues and green design high on the agenda, you can also expect to hear some new ideas on the way forward for design in the city and the different use of materials that could be quite unexpected.

Design for all
North, South, East and West London are all involved in the London Design Festival with key areas holding different events in prime locations. The Old Truman Brewery is back on board the festival programme with art, architecture, vintage design and contemporary designers all in the mix. Earls Court hosts 100 Percent Design London, which brings a unique mix of commerce, culture and experimentation to the design field.

Design Festival highlights
Covent Garden is also an exciting place to visit during the London Design Festival with plenty of exhibitions and events to inspire you with innovative designs. An unusual installation commissioned by Champagne brand Veuve Cliquot has been installed at Somerset House. The giant steel and wood structure glows signature yellow at night, making for an elegant addition to the famous building's frontage. 60 UK and international designers are also on show at No 1 The Piazza that will engage visitors in ways as yet unimagined.

Unique style
Full of the classic and the quirky, the unexpected and the original, the London Design Festival week will give you the chance to appreciate the style and sophistication of design in London, and even inspire you to get involved yourself.

Designer bargains
To round off the last day of the London Design Festival, a special one day sale will see fantastic items on sale at greatly reduced prices. An event not to be missed by any contemporary art and design fans, this is your chance to make your house the envy of your friends with one off pieces and delightfully designed items that you won't see anywhere else. The sale takes place on Tuesday 23rd September 2008 at Craft Central, St Johns Square from 12pm to 7pm. Entrance is free.
