London Film Festival at Trafalgar Square

Celebrating London's physical involvement in the London Film Festival this year, Film London are bringing the big screen to the masses once more. With two free showings on a giant screen, the London Film Festival at Trafalgar Square gives you a chance to get involved with the festival out in the open air.

This year the London Film Festival is 52, and to mark the anniversary the films screened at Trafalgar Square have London star as the central character. Entitled London Loves, the films on show for these special screenings show just how atmospheric and individual a city like London can be on screen.

The first screening of the London Film Festival at Trafalgar Square is the futuristic film from nearly 80 years ago, entitled High Treason. Screening this rarely seen archive film, High Treason, from 1929, offers an unusual vision of a futuristic London on Thursday 23rd October. Accompanied by live piano music, the screening by the London Film Festival at Trafalgar Square will show just how photogenic our fair city was, even at the begining of the twentieth century.

Finishing the outdoor cinema experience on Friday 24th October, London Loves is a whistle stop tour of the city, showing a variety of difference locations and areas on the big screen. A series of short films take up the Trafalgar Square big screen for the London Film Festival, capturing some classic London moments along with the more bizarre aspects of life in the capital.
