Festival kick-offThe action kicks off on Wednesday 15th October with the opening gala of Peter Morgan's Frost/Nixon, and the closing night gala on 1st November is equally exciting: Slumdog Millionaire, the latest film from director Danny Boyle.
PremieresAs usual, the London Film Festival's biggest draw is its previews of some of the year's most eagerly-awaited releases, including 15 world premieres. This year’s premieres include films like Nick Moran’s Telstar, Eran Creevy’s Shifty and Gerald McMorrow’s Franklyn. International premieres for 2008 include Anna Boden’s Sugar and Ryan Fleck and Ketan Mehta’s Colours of Passion. The latest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, will also have its first public screening at the festival. New for 2008There are also new films from some of the most exciting directors around, including: Oliver Stone (W), Steven Soderbergh (Che Part 1 and Part 2) and Woody Allen (Vicky Cristina Barcelona).
