London for London Events

When

3rd October 2009

Where

Various Bars, Clubs and Pubs

Want to give money to charity but too skint to fork out your hard earned cash at the moment? The London for London events make giving money to charity easy. For one night only, bars, pubs and clubs across the capital will be asking everyone who walks through the door to part with just £1 to help raise funds and awareness about violence amongst young people living in London.

What’s Involved?
A number of venues across London have already signed up to the London for London events, including large bar and club groups like Mitchells and Butlers, Novus Leisure, Match Bar, Cantaloupe Group, Ministry of Sound and Geronimo Inns, encompassing a vast number of bars and clubs across the capital. Everyone who walks through the doors of participating venues on the night will be asked to part with a £1 donation, either added onto the usual door fee or, for pubs and bars that don’t usually charge, as a cheap entry fee. All of the money goes to charity.

Charitable Donations
All of the money raised from the London for London events will go directly to one of three children’s charities and none of the profits will go towards administration costs. Some of the money will go to Help a London Child, which runs support groups for young people living with a disability or illness, refuge and homeless projects, and youth clubs. Money will also go towards the Volunteer Police Cadets, which diverts young people away from criminal and anti social behaviour by offering them a range of activities designed to enhance their life and citizenship skills. Finally, profits will also go to Kids Company, which provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner city children.

Get Into The Spirit
If you don’t usually give to charity but want to help out a good cause then the London for London events are the ideal way to give a little to make a big difference. Some venues will be matching all of the money raised on the door out of their own pocket. It’s important that, despite the recession, charities aren’t forgotten.

The London for London events take place from 11am-3am, 3rd October 2009 at bars, pubs and clubs across London. Donations are £1 and all of the money goes to charity.
