Not your average cartoon
Now over eight years old, the festival contains work from countries from around the world and highlights the variety in film, away from the standard glossy blockbusters of Leicester Square. Screening at The Barbican cinema, the London International Animation Festival is showing from Friday 26th August - Sunday 4th September 2011, offering you plenty of time to get down and see what's on offer.

Whether it's puppetry films; new styles such as digital and abstract panorama; special guests; programmes focusing on countries' and studio animations; animated documentaries; bizarre animation or the much loved feature films, the London International Animation Festival really does have it all.
Highlights for 2011
Highlights for the 2011 festival include a showcase of Polish animation, which celebrates the country's culture of storytelling and fairytales, as well as a celebration of the best contemporary animation to come out of Britain. There are also a series of masterclasses with celebrated Polish animator and director Wojtek Wawszczyk, whose new film George the Hedgehog premieres at the festival.
