Get ready to hear some of the best jazz from around the world during the London Jazz Festival at Ronnie Scotts. The legendary jazz club is hosting a number of live music gigs during the city wide festival, welcoming die hard jazz fans and newcomers alike through its doors.
Brubecks Play Brubeck
The live music gigs for the London Jazz Festival at Ronnie Scotts begins with Brubecks Plays Brubeck, in which Darius, Chris and Dan Brubreck pay tribute to their father Dave Brubeck's work. They are joined on stage by accomplished saxophonist Dave O Higgins.
The Brubecks Play Brubeck concerts take place from Wednesday 9th November - Saturday 12th November 2011. Tickets cost £25.00 - £48.50.
Jazz on 3
Also taking place during the London Jazz Festival at Ronnie Scotts is the Jazz on 3 launch, in which host Jez Nelson presents a diverse array of artists. Expect a celebratory atmosphere as the festival gets into full swing with short sets, interviews and more.
Tickets for the Jazz on 3 launch are free but must be booked in advance. The event takes place from 11pm, Friday 11th November.
Joey Calderazzo
Fans of the inspired pianist Joey Calderazzo are in for a real treat during the London Jazz Festival at Ronnie Scotts events, as the musician performs live on stage. Fusing the swing, bop and classical genres into a whirlwind of sound, Calderazzo's long term collaborations with Branford Marsalis and Michael Brecker has won him a legion of admirers.
The concert by Joey Calderazzo takes place from 7pm, Sunday 13th November. Tickets cost £15.00 - £28.50.
Yellowjackets
Another highlight of the programme at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club is the 30th anniversary celebration of the Yellowjackets. The all star lineup includes founding members Russell Ferrante and Jimmy Haslip, alongside veteran band member Bob Mintzer and the recently reunited drummer Will Kennedy.
The Yellowjackets concerts take place from Wednesday 16th November - Friday 18th November. Tickets cost £25.00 - £40.00.
Grand finale
The London Jazz Festival ends in a grand finale at Ronnie Scotts with two concerts designed to draw in the music loving crowds. On the penultimate night of the festival, the Laurence Cottle Big Band pay tribute to the late Jaco Pastorius with a selection of songs from his big band reportoire. On the final night, there's the chance to hear a selection of blues classics made famous by the likes of Muddy Waters, BB King, Howlin' Wolf and Albert King at the Ronnie Scott's Blues Explosion.
A Portrait of Jaco Pastorius starts 7pm, Saturday 19th November 2011. Tickets cost £20.00 - £42.50. The Ronnie Scott's Blue Explosion takes place from 7pm, Sunday 20th November. Tickets cost £15.00 - £32.50.
