World music at the London Jazz FestivalThe London Jazz Festival brings a selection of the world’s finest contemporary jazz artists to the heart of London in a premier music event. Music lovers in London will have the opportunity to enjoy live performances from a diverse range of artists, spanning everything from brassy big band numbers to more intimate solo performances. Musicians from across the globe will feature at the London Jazz Festival, in what promises to be an eclectic showcase of contemporary music. Jazz highlightsWith a string of acclaimed artists taking part in the London Jazz Festival there will be various highlights for all tastes in addition to many highly anticipated performances. Highlights include a performance at the Barbican from a host of jazz performers celbrating a century of great songs. One musician who will no doubt have jazz fans salivating in anticipation will be Herbie Hancock, one of the the most important musicians in jazz's history, and he'll be playing at the Barbican. Special eventsThe London Jazz Festival programme includes a selection of special events in addition to live music performances. There will be a real mix of events this year with collaborations between artists, special commissions, education projects and more, all taking place in London during November. And if you really can't make it then there'll be select bits and bobs broadcast online and on air.
