With over £1 million raised so far by the London Night Hike, this year's midnight stroll through the city of London is set to raise even more. Organised by Maggies Cancer Caring Centres charity in conjunction with the Open House London architecture weekend, the hike is a fantastic opportunity to see the streets of London lit up at night and contribute towards a seriously good cause.

Midnight stroll
Walking past some of the most impressive and immediately recognisable buildings in the city, the London Night Hike takes walkers on a hike around the capital past such architectural gems as the Southbank Centre, the Royal Geographical Society, Horse Guards, and the Royal Institute of British Architects. This year, hikers can choose between a ten mile hike or even more taxing 20 mile hike around the streets of London.

2011 highlights
2011 promises to be just as special as last year with two routes that take you past some of the most impressive buildings in London, all lit up for the occassion. Starting at night and going all the way up until sunrise, walkers can see the whole of the city spread out before them in this very special one off chance to walk the city at night with hundreds of others.

Event highlights
Before you set off on the London Night Hike this year, you have the chance to take part in a very special opening event at Leadenhall Market, where you can stock up on high energy carbs at the food market before the late night walking event kicks off. Highlights for the 2011 charity walk also include a cup of tea and a bacon roll breakfast for the 20 mile hikers.

All for charity
Maggies Centres offer emotional and psychological support to people suffering from cancer and their families. They have support centres all over the UK and do an invaluable job in helping people cope with their illness. The London Night Hike 2011 is set to beat the previous year's total and by participating or sponsoring someone who is taking part, you can help them reach their target. Not only is this an amazing chance to walk a traffic free hike through the streets of London, but it is a chance to give something to a charity that really makes a difference to thousands of peoples lives.

The London Night Hike takes place on Friday 16th September 2011. You can sign up for either a 20 mile hike or a 10 mile hike.

Registration for individuals costs £30.00. A team of four or more members costs £23.00 per person to register. For more information and to register for the 2011 events, click on the link below.
