Where
Participating London Restaurants
Throughout September and October London restaurants are getting behind the Restaurants Against Hunger campaign by urging people to fight hunger and eat out. Raising money to help feed families living in the poorest parts of the world and enabling them to get out of the daily struggle to feed themselves, the London Restaurants Against Hunger campaign is a great way to give to charity whilst enjoying some of the best cuisine in town.
Fight Hunger Eat Out
Organised by the charity Action Against Hunger, the whole of September and October is dedicated to London restaurants providing foodies with a delicious meal and the chance to donate to the cause. With the emphasis placed on enjoyment and not on guilt, the campaign of London Restaurants Against Hunger ensures that you can do your bit simply by eating out at your favourite places.
Giving What You Can
With hundreds of restaurants, cafes and gastropubs taking part across the UK, you can be sure that loads of London restaurants will be behind the move too, making it a simple matter of choosing where you go for the charitable nosh. Many of the restaurants taking part donate some of their takings for specially created dishes, whilst others will be adding an optional donation to your bill or hosting special events just for the campaign. With proceeds from the month coming to hundreds of thousands of pounds last year, the 2010 London Restaurants Against Hunger are set to raise even more cash for charity.
London Restaurants Against Hunger
So far several great London restaurants have signed up to take part in the month long eating out marathon. Awana, Tamarind, Taman Gang, The Ebury and Le Cercle have all put their names down, along with a range of other restaurants, gastropubs and cafes. But don't worry if your favourite restaurant isn't on the list yet - you can encourage your local Indian or the French place down the road to participate by asking them to visit the following link:

Making a Difference
With 25,000 lives a day still being claimed by hunger and poverty, the Action Against Hunger campaign is your chance to make a difference to the lives of people living in destitution and misery. A small sum such as £27.00 can be enough to provide a survival kit to save the life of a severely malnourished child, so think how much you can do simply by chowing down on some of your favourite grub a few times during October.
