Take on the London to Paris bike ride challenge for charity and cycle nearly 500km for your chosen cause. Running from 9th September - 13th September 2009, the bicycle challenge brings together people from all walks of life who are all determined to cross that finishing line in Paris for their sponsored charity.
London to Pais bike ride challenge
Enter the London to Paris bike ride challenge and you're sure to meet a vast array of like minded people who are all set on getting healty, getting outdoors, finishing the route and raising loads of cash for their charity. Starting in London, the first day of the bike ride will have you cycling out of the British capital, through the countryside of Kent and the North Downs, to the port of Dover. After that, you'll be cycling through the countryide and market towns of eastern France, including Abbeville, along the river Somme to Beauvais, and finally to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

If you're worried that you're not up for the physical side of the challenge, then fear not - the route is supposed to be managable even if you're not a fully toned athlete, and there are support vehicles and water stops present throughout the journey to make sure everyone's ok. If you're determined to finish the ride and do a bit of ground work before you go, then the organisers will do everything they can to make sure you cross that finish line.
Choose your charity
Over 500 charities have signed up to be represented in the London to Paris bike ride challenge, so you'll be spoilt for choice for worthwhile causes to support. Choose from Breast Cancer Care, Hope HIV, Mind, or a variety of charities supporting children and overseas aid; just remember, you'll be asked to raise at least £1,200, so whatever you do, start fundraising early.
The London to Paris Bike ride challenge runs from Wednesday 9th September - Sunday 13th September 2009. There is an initial deposit of £99.00. The ride is open to those aged 18 and over. For more information and to sign up for the challenge, click on the link below.
