The series of London to Paris Bike Ride challenges starts in London in June 2009, where hundreds of cyclists will set off on an epic journey in support of various charities.

Pedal to Paris
Hundreds of cyclists are ready to start pedalling in London to reach the heart of Paris in a 325 mile bike ride. Participants in the London to Paris Bike Ride events will set off en masse, cycling their way down through the Kent countryside.

Cycling for charity
Proceeds from the series London to Paris Bike Ride challenges will be donated to a number of charities, including Action Medical Research, the national charity for resarch into disease in the UK. Having pioneered the sugar cube vaccine for polio in 1952, the charity has gone from strength to strength with groundbreaking medical research. Otehr charites set to benefit from the bike rides include Help the Aged, Age Concern, Breast Cancer Research and a variety of charities that help children and overseas development projects.

The itinerary
Each charity bike ride starts in London and passes through the countryside in Kent and on to the port of Dover. Then it's a hop on the ferry and a ride through old market towns, beautiful rivers and historic battlegrounds as crowds of locals cheer you on. The last stop is Paris, where the tours finish by the Eiffel Tower.
