Wandsworth Road may seem an unlikely setting for a fairytale, but with its enchanting garden, vintage decor and happily-ever-after cocktails, Lost Society ensures you lose all sense of reality.

The Venue
Once upon a time, Lost Society was a little known hideaway. Now this is the busiest bars in the area - and with good reason. As you can imagine then, the queue is likely to stretch as far as Rapunzel’s hair on the weekend – so it’s best to arrive before 9pm.

This venue parades character from all of its antique corners. The staircase, wooden roof beams, gilded wallpaper, cracked leather coaches and decadent chandeliers all add up to an ‘at last – an interestingly independent bar’ sigh of relief. The garden opens for the summer months and is well worth the winter wait with greenery and white wrought-iron furniture to give you that holiday-feeling.

The Atmosphere
The crowd at Lost Society is almost as refreshing a mix as the cocktails the bar staff lovingly create. Daters, dancers, yummy mummies, yucky buckys, cool Claphamites and Wandsworth weirdos all unite to have a fun-filled night out.

The Music
Having built up quite a reputation over the past couple of years, Lost Society now hosts nights featuring all-star guest DJs and quirky events such as Hat Sunday (everyone wearing a hat gets a free drink). Electro and funky house are the main genres to move to here, although they have recently begun hosting a Fondue Night (‘80s food, drink and music) on a Thursday.

The Food
Their Sharing is Caring bar menu offers discerning drinkers an opportunity to fill their stomachs with something more than vodka. The Greek mezze, Spanish cold meat platter and the cheese platter - although making you very un-kissable - all offer excellent value for money. The real treat is the roast beef or lamb served from noon on Sundays with all the trimmings for £10.95.

The Drink
The cocktail list is phenomenal. If a fairytale land really existed, the population would dine on a diet of these delicious delights. There is a huge range of jams and condiments lining the back of the bar, which the cap wearing bar staff use to muster up their magic.

The Mary Cherry Poppins, Red Dragon and Jack the Nutter concoctions (all under £7 each) will definitely fly you away to another land. For the more down to earth types, there are two pages of beer options and an extensive and very explanatory wine list.

The Last Word
Fabulous staff, fantastic food, beautiful decor and dreamy drinks – there’s no reason a night here should have anything but a happy ending.
